BIOMIN Silage Assessment successfully launched in Serbia
The XII International Symposium on Forage Crops “Forage crops basis of the sustainable animal husbandry development“ of Republic of Serbia took place in Kruševac, Serbia, from 25th to 28th of May 2010. The event was attended by more than 70 specialists in the field of forage production and preservation from mainly Eastern Europe.
BIOMIN was represented by Ing BSc. Gerhard Galsterer, Regional Sales and Marketing Director, and Dr. Yunior Acosta Aragón, Technical manager for feed preservation. The BIOMIN scientific contribution was in form of two posters titled:
- The use of a silage inoculant in silages of grains of Pisum sativum
- The use of a silage inoculant in silages of grains of Vicia faba
The scientific committee of the event asked for having a presentation summarizing the use of silage inoculants for leguminous grain silages, which was held on the 27th of May in the session “Forage quality, conservation and animal nutrition”.
Additionally, VINODOL, the BIOMIN Serbian distributor and BIOMIN shared a booth presenting BIOMIN’s silage inoculant Biomin® BioStabil and the BIOMIN Silage Assessment tool.
Clients from VINODOL were invited to take silage samples to the booth. Organoleptic parameters, as well as temperature, pH, Dry matter content and particle size were determined in sito at the booth with very simple methods, which are available for our customers as an extra service and added value for our silage inoculants.
The very lively discussions at the booth attracted many participants, who were very interested in exchanging experiences in the field of silage and silage quality.
The BIOMIN Silage Assessment is a tool for making decisions and evaluating the results of a very complex topic: the ensiling technique.
